May I go anywhere, through infinite fields, to help and serve people, fulfilling beings’ needs, bringing the method of enlightenment to people. May I never be intimidated or be faint at any time, always serving people. May I always remain to help with whatever people need. May I be able to lead all of you and all sentient beings to total enlightenment. That is the First Dalai Lama’s Praise to Green Tara.
— Ngawang Gelek, Green Tara

Join the Drepung Gomang monks as they offer prayers to Green Tara.

Green Tara is the feminine embodiment of enlightenment. The name Tara literally translated means “One Who Liberates” because of her commitment to save sentient beings from suffering.

Tara is associated with the qualities of action and protection, kindness, and caring, and a strong connection to the earth. During the Green Tara Puja the monks will use chanting, drums, bells and cymbals.

Investment: Space is limited! Please register for this event by clicking below, for free. A suggested donation of $25 (payable at the event) in cash, please! All donations go directly to support the monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery.

Merchandise crafted by the monks and other Tibetan refugees will be available for purchase before and after the event. All proceeds go to support the monastery.
